Alpha, a course in discovering Christianity

Have you ever asked yourself, Is there more to life than this? If you would like a chance to ask any question or probe any element of Christianity, Alpha may be what you’re looking for. The course is offered in a relaxed, non-judgmental setting, everyone is welcome, and any question is acceptable. Good Shepherd will celebrate with a dinner and welcome new guests.

Celebrate your journey of faith this Spring at the ALPHA Welcome Dinner, Wednesday, February 1st from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm at Good Shepherd’s parish hall.  We encourage all who have attended ALPHA to bring a friend or neighbor! At the Celebration Dinner, guests can experience the warm hospitality and friendly “ask anything” atmosphere of the ALPHA Course before attending the next eight Wednesday sessions (February 1st - March 29th).

ALPHA friends and guests at the February 1st Dinner will enjoy a good meal as they meet others who have done ALPHA.  After the meal, we’ll watch a brief talk, “Is There More to Life?”, featuring Nicky Gumbel, Vicar of Holy Trinity Brompton Church in London, England.

The following weekly sessions give ALPHA guests an opportunity to investigate the existence of God, the purpose of life, the afterlife, the claims of Jesus and the Bible. As at the Celebration Dinner, each ALPHA session begins with a meal and a chance to get to know others. Then guests watch a half-hour talk, before gathering into small groups for discussion with others from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.  Because guests meet in the same small groups each week, they can build lasting relationships with others in the group as they explore the following questions:

Spring 2017 ALPHA sessions:
