If you're thinking of visiting us for one of our Sunday Services, we have put together the following questions and answers so you know what to expect. If you have any questions that are not covered on this page, do feel free to contact us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
What time do your Sunday services start?
8:00am and 10:00am and they both last approximately an hour and fifteen minutes. The only exception is the Annual Parish Meeting or the visit by the Bishop whereas we merge the two services for a 9:30am start.
Where can I park?
We have on-site parking around the church.
What happens when I arrive?
You will be greeted at the front entrance and directed to our chapel.
Do you have Bibles available?
Yes there are bibles in the library, but our service is printed in-full on what is known as a "customary " or commonly referred to by most folks as a "bulletin". For the sake of accuracy, however, the difference is the former is all-inclusive in every word said, from start to finish, informing you of the full custom and the latter is merely an outline. An usher will provide you with a customary on your arrival. Anyone who wishes to use a bible may pull one off the shelf in our library and use it as long as you wish. If you come to the 8 O'clock you'll get the Rite I customary and at 10 O'clock you'll receive the Rite II customary .
Do you have baby-changing facilities?
Yes, this is situated in our nursery, located in one of the rooms adjacent to our parish hall. Did we mention we have a wonderful adult who is trained to look after and nurture any of your children under three years of age during the service. Simply check in your child at the nursery and come and worship.
Do you have disabled facilities?
We have parking spaces available for the disabled, should you need to use them for accessibility. Also, a toilet with hand rails are available for men and women. We have wheelchair access through the front entrance and everything is on a single floor.
Where do I sit?
There are no set seating plans as you can sit wherever you feel most comfortable. If anyone tells you to move because you are sitting in their seat, please inform the Rector after the service. He will be glad to add years to their time in purgatory for that offense.
Is there a dress-code?
No. Come as you wish! Most of our parishoners dress casually yet are conscious to the fact we are to bring our best to God, as we are an offering to Him.
Do you have Sunday School classes?
For our youth we have three classes in which to participate. For adults, not yet, however Christian Ed opportunities abound midweek with bible studies, inquirer's classes and special devotions during the weeks of Advent, Epiphany, and Lent. Please look into the site that lists all upcoming offerings. For the children, every Sunday, we also have what is called Children's Chapel, when, after the Gospel is read, they are led out in procession to a side chapel set up in the parish hall, just for them!
What happens during the service?
It is pretty routine. Every Sunday we celebrate The Great Thanksgiving, or Holy Eucharist, or Holy Communion, depending on how you are accustomed. If you are not accustomed to this practice, let us share. Half of the service is devoted to the Word of God, blending biblical readings from the Old Testament, Psalter, and New Testament (Epistle/letter and Gospel) of the Bible. The other half is devoted to the Holy Eucharist when we offer our gifts to God and witness his blessing of grace bestowed in the real presence of His son Jesus Christ within both bread and wine. They are mysteriously transformed into the body and blood of Jesus, so that when we eat and drink, we become one body by Him, with Him, and in Him. Anyone who is a baptized Christian is eligible and invited to receive the Blessed Sacrament of our Lord.
What happens after the service?
We have an abundance of fresh breads and refreshments to choose from and most people stay around to enjoy each other in fellowship, chatting for a while before heading home. This is a great opportunity for us to get to know you better if you are able to stick around.
Can I arrange a meeting with the Priest or one of the main leaders?
ALWAYS! If you can't get to see Father John before or after the services then contact us and he, or his assistant, will set up an appointment with you.
